Private investigations have become an effective part of the investigative sciences, assuming a key role in the context of criminal investigation.
There are several main operational areas in private investigations:

commercial enterprise sector

- Investigations in criminal matters

During WIC2013 in Rome, it was
decided to create a WAWFE working group
concerning private investigations. The
Scientific Coordinator is Gaetano
Bernieri,
detective, former President of the
National Committee of the Vocational
Training Federpol, author of the first
Italian specialization course in
"Science of Private Investigations" at
the University of Molise and President
of the cultural association, the
European People's University
The working group promotes cooperation between institutional and private organizations and is open to all investigative associations.
Main Aims:
- to increase knowledges in the field of private investigations
- to join people from different associations
- to share ideas and experience
- to organize courses, seminars, conferences in the specific field
